The railway industry requires robust monitoring systems to detect and mitigate track defects that could compromise safety. We have developed in televic such a system: COSAMIRA Edge.
This internship thesis focuses on designing and fabricating a test bench that simulates railway track defects in order to validates some of the COSAMIRA monitoring algorithms.
The test bench is made of a wheel equipped with a 2 axis accelerometer, a counter wheel to mimic track profiles, two linear actuators that allows to induce accelerations to the whole set and a driving mechanism to spin the wheel.
This thesis has the following goals:
– selecting the proper actuators, that allows to drive the set based on the requirements.
– Defining the supporting frame main characteristics (Student will be backed up to come to a final design)
– Implementing the SW interface that allows to control the test bench
– Fabrication and Test
